This is Koide from Sado!
Today was a BBQ dive at Katanoo.
It's a site we don't often get the chance to dive, so we enjoyed the sea with a fresh feeling, different from usual.
The water temp was 16 degrees, and visibility was around 10 m.
Underwater, we observed haokoze (a waspfish) courting, giant Pacific octopus that can still be seen, mizutama umiushi nudibranchs, and more.
At the eelgrass spot, we could also confirm that the eelgrass was in bloom.
You can feel the season moving forward little by little.
And after the dives, a seafood BBQ with everyone!
Turban shells grilled in their shells, freshly grilled overnight dried mackerel, giant Pacific octopus, sausages, vegetables, rice balls, and mekabu (wakame seaweed root) soup.
The freshly grilled mackerel was especially amazing...!
The sun was blazing,
there was no wind, and the sea was calm.
A BBQ together on a day like this is always fun.
This time we had 11 guests and 3 staff members.
It was a day of enjoying the sea, eating good food, and laughing a lot!
Thank you to everyone who joined us!
Let's do it again!
