Diving at Sado Island: March 7: GO DIVE at Gusty Mushizaki!, photo 1

This is Koide from Sado.

We had planned to hold our "Let's Eat Seaweed Diving" event at Kitakoura, but due to poor sea conditions it has been postponed to the 14th.

So today, we went to check out the sea at Mushizaki, just for our guests staying overnight!

Underwater, we saw

tatesujiumiushi (a nudibranch),

seahorse,

and, found only in spring,

hoteiuo (smooth lumpsucker) and dangouo (a tiny lumpsucker)!

We spotted several juvenile dangouo!

There were still only 2 juvenile hoteiuo, but we're hoping their numbers will gradually grow from here.

Between the gusty winds and hail, conditions were tough, but it was a fun sea full of life!

And for the postponed

"Let's Eat Seaweed Diving" event, we're now accepting participants!

The spring sea is rich in edible seaweed too!

After diving, let's enjoy actually eating some seaweed.
