Today we dove at Kitakoura again!
The first dive was at the artificial reef.
Lots of fish!
Lots of fish, and yet we did a macro dive! (lol)
An anahaze (a sculpin) perched neatly on top of a turban shell.
It was so cute!
The classic peekaboo kogeginpo (a blenny).
The background colors are lovely too!
Before the light hit this kogeginpo, I thought it looked kind of blackish and plain…
but when the light hit it, it turned out to be this cute color with polka dots!?
Kogeginpo may be a classic, but it's fun to photograph all their different colors!
A juvenile kitsunemebaru (a rockfish).
It's small and moves around, so it's hard with a compact camera!
It made me want to shoot with a mirrorless camera! (lol)
A himeginpo (a triplefin) upside down on the wall.
Such beautiful colors.
And then…
we also had divers who love nudibranchs, so we searched really hard!
At this time of year they're pretty hard to find, but…
we found a tiny one!

A super tiny Arimoumiushi!
At first I thought it was a speck of debris. (lol)
Is this an Akaeraumiushi?
It was pink and beautiful!
And, found for the first time in a while:
a Sumirematsukasaumiushi.
This one is tiny too!
And then…
we also had a guest celebrating a birthday today…
so we celebrated on land!
During the safety stop, while we were taking videos and photos…
guess what, a kobudai (Asian sheepshead wrasse) fight started!

Most people are still in drysuits.
A 6.5mm wetsuit (rokuhan) is fine.
A 5mm wetsuit is cold.
