Diving at Sado Island: December 22: Ogi (Lots of Snow Fell), photo 1

Hello, this is Koide from Freeway.

We've had lots of snow in Sado too.

We crunched through the snow to enter the sea.

Today we split into a daytime diving team and a night diving team

for our dives.

I was in charge of guiding the daytime team.

We observed ainame (fat greenling) eggs, kouika (golden cuttlefish) courting, nudibranchs and more.

The ainame eggs are steadily increasing, too!

↓ Ainame guarding their eggs

↓ A kouika pair (we've also been seeing the male courting)

↓ Nudibranchs (we searched quite a bit: about 8 species?)

① Hiroumiushi

② Kiiroumiushi

③ Otomeumiushi

④ Kuromidorigai

⑤ Aoumiushi

⑥ Shiroumiushi

⑦ Jibogaumiushi

⑧ Houzukifushieragai

Those were the ones we saw.

Nudibranchs increase explosively from around March.

I can't wait for nudibranch season to arrive.

Today's dive site: Ogi, Ryuodo

■ Air temp 4℃

■ Water temp 15℃

■ Visibility 10m
