Good evening, this is Koide from Freeway's Sado shop!
Last night we went night diving in Ogi!
There seem to be a lot of yariika (spear squid) this year. That night we found 2 pairs, and one of them was right in the middle of laying eggs! The yariika were about 40 cm long.
This is a mimiika (a bobtail squid). It was a big one, about 5 cm! Its round body is so cute!
Night is the time when crustaceans become active too.
The photo below is a kind of squat lobster. It's on a leaf, waiting for food.
Here are the nudibranchs we saw!
<Eda umiushi>
<Mukade meribe>
<Emura minoumiushi>
<Azuki umiushi>
Juvenile kusauo (a snailfish) have appeared too. Their bodies are transparent.
They dart around, so they're hard to photograph (phew).

The night sea is full of life too, and we recommend it!
