Mushizaki boat diving, which opened this year!
This was my first time using it too!
Of course, it was the guests' first time as well.
The first dive was at Hebiiwa!
New dive sites are so exciting.
The descent line is set at a depth of about 8m.
The site is divided into a “sandy zone” and a “seaweed and rocky zone.”
Which way to go...
For now, off to the “sandy zone.” Let's go!
Searching through the patches of seaweed scattered here and there,
we found a seahorse.
A great start!
Young youjiuo (pipefish) and others were also hiding there.
They're so thin, they're like bits of thread.
Changing direction, we headed to the “seaweed and rocky zone.”
We found a raised rock formation.
The rock face is very colorful with sponges and hydroids.
There's an impressive futoyagi (a sea whip) too.
So many highlights, so much fun!
It makes you want to take your time photographing.
We also found a tiny nudibranch.
Can you tell where it is?
It's the bumpy little thing in the center of the photo.
It's a kogane matsukasa umiushi.
Jacks gather at this site too.
Hebiiwa was a great dive site!
The second dive was off Benten Beach!
Benten Beach, which needs no introduction!
We often use it for courses and trial diving.
However, the slope down is steep, so we rarely managed to go there for fun diving.
This time, we had the boat take us there.
What a luxury (lol)
It was an adventure dive where we were dropped offshore at around 10m depth.
And of course, no descent line, please.
We all went down to 16m.
Luckily, we even encountered some rare creatures!
First, a John Dory.
Every time I encounter this fish, it reminds me of when I used to do kyudo (Japanese archery).
I get itchy to shoot an arrow at the ◎ pattern in the middle.
A komonkasube also appeared.
It's a relative of the rays.
I couldn't get very close.
I just can't help taking photos of these: a sea pen.
It looks like a scrubbing brush.
New dive sites keep popping up at Mushizaki too!
We want to discover lots of highlights at each site from here on.
We look forward to exploring together with all of you!
