Good evening!
This is Chika from Freeway!
Today we went diving at Kitakoura!
The sea today was simply great!
The visibility was good, a refreshing blue sea spread out around us, and above all, there were so many fish!
Fish were everywhere, and it was such a great sea that just swimming around underwater was thrilling.
And this season, the “seasonal visitor fish” around Sado are getting really interesting!
Seasonal visitor fish are fish carried by currents from the warm southern seas all the way to Sado, fish you normally can't see around Sado!
When the water temperature drops, they die…
It's a sad fate, but
this year, even more kinds than usual have drifted in.
Today we met fish like these!
• Juvenile neon damselfish
• Juvenile akaobihanadai (red-belted anthias) (first of the season!)
• Juvenile kinchakudai (bluestriped angelfish)
• Juvenile bluestreak cleaner wrasse
• Striped eel catfish (gonzui)
• Juvenile nenbutsudai (half-lined cardinalfish)
And a first for this season!
We also found a super, super tiny juvenile lionfish!
It was smaller than any I've ever seen, and incredibly cute.
Encounters you can only have at this time of year got us so excited!
From here on, the autumn Sado sea will get even more crowded with fish.
Plus, there's a chance to meet fish you rarely see around Sado, like the seasonal visitors that came from the southern seas!
The autumn sea offers a different kind of fun from the usual Sado sea.
Everyone, please do come and visit!
