July 19: Washizaki

This is Ando!

Today we did two dives at Washizaki.

The sky was gloomy in the morning, but it gradually cleared up while we were diving.

For the first dive, we entered at Gentaguri.

The current we had been worried about was gentle, so we could swim along leisurely.

Visibility was about 15m, and the water temp was a comfortable 23 to 24°C.

For the second dive, we went to Takase.

Damselfish and chagara (a small goby) were schooling in huge numbers, and it was lively underwater.

The way the damselfish school, as if welling up out of the rock face, is a sight unique to the north side of Sado.

It felt like moving through a wall of fish, and it was really impressive.

Washizaki has interesting, undulating terrain; it's a dive site where you can pass between the rocks and enjoy the topography itself.

It's an area for advanced divers where the current is often strong, so we were lucky to dive in calm seas like today.

After we got out of the water, our guests said, “I'm so glad there was no current,” and it turned out to be a really great dive, relaxing and watching the schools of fish.

We provide support so that even beginners can enjoy the sea of Sado with peace of mind.

Please come and visit us.
