This is Koide from Sado!
Peeking into a gap between the rocks, I found an isoginpo (a blenny) guarding its eggs.
Tiny eggs, laid in a dense cluster.
Right beside them, the parent stays close, quietly keeping watch.
Even the small creatures we might usually overlook are carrying on the precious work of life under the sea.
Sado's sea isn't just about wide scenery and kobudai (Asian sheepshead wrasse): little dramas like this are really fascinating too.
In the coming season, watching the creatures in the shallows is going to get more and more fun!
