This is Koide from Sado!

Into the early summer seaweed forest

Today, in the Ogi area with a guest,

we did a seaweed wide angle dive.

This was the guest's

“wide angle debut with an interchangeable lens camera”!

Water temp 15°C.

Visibility around 10 to 15 m.

In the blue sea,

with the seaweed gently swaying,

the two of us got completely absorbed in taking photos.

The scenery of nagamo and hondawara (sargassum seaweeds)

is a special world you can only see this season.

Very much the Sea of Japan,

it was a quiet and dreamlike early summer sea.

And along the way,

we came across akanamako (red sea cucumbers) releasing sperm and eggs.

From their raised bodies,

life spread out like white smoke.

The sea cucumbers around them reacted one after another,

and we got to see the moment the sea quietly came to life.

It was a truly precious

and truly beautiful time.

Thank you so much for today!
