November 2: Sado Island Means Kobudai!, photo 1

Good evening!

This is Chika Nakagawa from Freeway.

When you think of Sado Island, you think of kobudai (Asian sheepshead wrasse) 🐟

At the Kitakoura/Akaiwa site, our first kobudai in a while!

It wasn't one of the ones with a name, but…

we were lucky!

The lionfish, a seasonal visitor fish, have grown big too!

I was surprised at how big they are!

A hiro umiushi for the first time in a while 👏

Small, but pink and cute 🩷

And…

a juvenile yellow boxfish 🐡

So cute 🩷

At Akaiwa, a nise hakusen mino umiushi

I got a cool shot of it against a black background!

An isoginpo (a blenny) popping its head out

This one has been guarding its eggs the whole time!

↑ The tiny dots are the eggs

The weather kept changing between rain and sunshine, but…

I'm glad we were able to dive safely!

Thank you to everyone who joined us!

It's gradually becoming the season when it's nice to have something to throw on (like a windbreaker).
