Diving at Sado Island: November 12: Ogi (Will We Find the Season's First Dangouo?!), photo 1

Good evening!

This is Chika Nakagawa from Freeway's Sado shop.

Today we dove at Kitakoura during the day, saw off our day-trip guests, and then...

did a night dive at Ogi!

As I wrote in my last blog post...

whether we found the season's first dangouo (a tiny lumpsucker) is in the second half of this post. Haha

On the night dive: a hermit crab with a cute, fluffy shell

Not a dangouo, but a mimiika (a bobtail squid) hiding in the sand

The way it hides with just its eyes showing, covering its body with sand, is so charming.

At night there are lots of shrimp and crabs too!

A cuttlefish drifting gently, watching us!

And now!

The dangouo is...!

Please watch this video. Haha

Yes. Not a yellow dangouo, but...

we found a yellow boxfish on the night dive!

It was sleeping and looked so cute.

But...

Oh, the dangouo...

We couldn't find one.

I think the water is still too warm.

We'll find one on a night dive in December...

Still...

it was a really fun night dive.

The days are getting shorter and sunset comes earlier, so you can enter the water from around 17:00.

Please join us for a winter night dive!

Today's dive site: Ogi

① Yakushiji to Ryuodo

• Air temp: 16°C

• Water temp: 18°C to 20°C
