Good evening, this is Yabiki from Freeway.
The Obon holiday period has begun, and today again all of our staff were out running dives.
On the fun dives there are lots of schools of sardines, juvenile chagara (a goby), horse mackerel and damselfish, and we often see the big migratory fish that hunt them.
The buri (Japanese amberjack) and hiramasa (yellowtail amberjack) look so cool!
On courses and trial diving, when the sunlight shines onto the blue sea and white sand, that alone gets everyone excited.
The blue sea in the shallows is the best!
Today I ran shore dives.
Not as many as at the boat dive sites, but there were lots of juvenile chagara, and just gazing at them absent-mindedly is so soothing.
Chagara are so cute, aren't they!
On top of that, near the surface we saw about 20 bigfin reef squid, each about 10cm long.
They were tucked away in a recessed spot, so instead of fleeing far away they let us take our time watching up close as their body color changed.
Squid are so interesting!
From here on the fish life will keep getting denser. Can't wait!
Thank you to everyone who joined us today.
