Hello, this is Koide from Sado!
Yesterday we held dives in the Ogi area.
• Sakuma's team: license course!
• Koide's team: fun diving!
Today's weather was almost perfectly clear, and the sea was completely flat! Really lucky!
The first dive was an entry at Koma, our first in a while. It feels like the seaweed has shot up all at once over the past few weeks. Underwater, it's like a seaweed forest. If you don't keep good neutral buoyancy, you might get tangled up! When the sunlight streams in and overlaps with the seaweed, it feels incredibly mystical.
Visibility was around 8m to 10m, and the spring plankton bloom is gradually starting to show.
On the second dive, we entered at Yakushiji and exited at Ryuodo. He was still there! The hoteiuo (smooth lumpsucker) father! He's guarding his eggs at about 3m depth. Until a little while ago we could see several of them, but now he's the only one left. It looks like the hoteiuo egg guarding season is finally coming to an end. Judging from the eggs, they probably won't hatch for about another 2 weeks. If you'd like to see it, why not come along with us? We look forward to welcoming you to the island!
