Good evening!
This is Chika Nakagawa from Freeway.
Today we dove at Kitakoura, the most famous dive site on Sado Island!
This site is famous for kobudai (Asian sheepshead wrasse), but…
today was a slow macro dive with cameras!
Or rather, the kobudai just weren't there. (lol)
Sometimes they aren't around.
We're dealing with nature, so it can't be helped.
As for macro…
nudibranchs, nijiginpo (a fang blenny), kokeginpo (a small blenny) and more:
we practiced photography on creatures that don't move around much.
I'm so glad you got a little taste of how fun photography is!
There was also a juvenile boxfish: a minamihakofugu (yellow boxfish)? Or a hakofugu?
It was so cute!
Adorable from every angle!
And there was one more little yellow one ↓
A tiny matsukasauo (pinecone fish).
It was about the size of a ping pong ball and really cute!
A little out of season?
A common octopus brooding her eggs.
The water temperature is high this year, so maybe some of them are just late?
Nisehakusenminoumiushi
I feel like there are a few more of them than usual!
The slow macro dive was so much fun!
M and C,
I'm looking forward to diving with you again!
Thank you so much!
↑ The sea was a little rough yesterday, so the visibility dropped a bit.
Hoping it recovers soon!
Little by little, we're getting into the season when it's nice to have something to throw on, like a windbreaker.
